Technical Training Coach - Organizational Training & Development

The City of Fayetteville's Human Resources Department is currently recruiting for a Technical Training Coach to perform a variety of highly complex, professional, technical and analytical work that requires critical thinking in the area of planning, coordinating and conducting multiple training programs to meet organizational training needs; participate in the coordination and implementation of the City's employment training and development programs, research and analysis, needs assessments, employee engagement surveys, career development, succession planning, and online training programs for employees.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 
  1. Manage the City's Performance Management System including monitoring, problem solving, and communication required to administer the program; monitoring deadlines, recommending process improvement, updating employee guidelines, and ensuring all performance evaluations are processed in the most effective, efficient, timely manner possible.
  2. Conduct training needs assessments based on employee, departmental, and organizational goals.
  3. Design, develop and deliver in-house courses to enhance the technical, professional, administrative and management skills of employees; research external training courses and make recommendations on purchase.
  4. Create workbooks, manuals, handouts, visuals and other training materials for in-house courses.
  5. Develop and coordinate online training initiatives; research online training practices and determine appropriateness for the City, design or recommend online training courses that develop the competencies needed by employees, partner with other departments to develop online content that is conducive to adult learning needs.
  6. Identify and maintain a library of appropriate online training resources and materials. 
  7. Publicize training opportunities to employees.
  8. Evaluate training effectiveness through evaluations or surveys and make recommendations for improvement.
  9. Oversee the recording and retaining of employee training records and the training software, coordinate with other staff members to ensure all training certificates are saved in employee personnel records and monitor completion of mandatory compliance training.
  10. Assist in developing policies and procedures for employees to support the Human Resource Development Department and the overall organization.
 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 
Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:

Experience:
Two years of increasingly responsible experience in training, adult education, human resources, or related work.

Training:
Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in organizational development, public administration, business administration, human resources management, communications, education, or a related field.

LICENSING & CERTIFICATIONS:

Required:
Must possess or have the ability to obtain within the first year of employment the Franklin Covey Trainer and Achieve Global Trainer certifications; or obtain them as soon as courses become available.

Preferred:
Crucial Conversations Trainer certification and Dominance, Influence, Steadiness, and Conscientiousness (DiSC) trainer certification.
