MDOT Engineer Manager Licensed 14 - Bureau of Development

Job Description
The Hydraulics Unit Engineer Manager supervises and administers a transportation design unit staffed with seven engineers. The unit furnishes construction plans, contract documents, and reports for transportation projects. This position manages staff whose work includes hydraulic and scour analyses, reviewing and approving county drain apportionments and assessments, providing cost share information for agreements with public or private entities, and reviewing hydraulic connections to MDOT stormwater conveyance systems. This position works with the Federal Highway Administration, other areas of the department, Michigan Department of Environmental Quality, and other federal, state, and local agencies in the development of policy and maintaining compliance with federal and state floodplain statutes.

Required Education and Experience
Education
Possession of a bachelor of science degree in engineering

Experience
Five years of professional experience equivalent to a Transportation Engineer, including three years equivalent to a Transportation Engineer P11; two years equivalent to a Transportation Engineer 12 or Transportation Engineer Licensed 12; or, one year equivalent to an Engineer Manager Licensed 13, Transportation Engineering Licensed Specialist 13.

 
Additional Requirements and Information
Possession of a registered professional engineering license as required by the State of Michigan.
